Who Are The Richest People In Kenya?

Updated on March 5, 2012

Are the richest people in Kenya and the amount of wealth they own known? Regrettably no one can today tell the exact amount of money that the richest people in Kenya own because the rich are not ready to reveal what they possess. But if we may ask why do they have to conceal the exact quantity of their wealth? Is there a hidden motive that accompanies the way they have acquired their fortune? Perhaps may be but for now let us try as much as possible answer this question that many Kenyans deserve to know.

In this hub I will be listing what I strongly believe to be the Kenyan rich list but without giving the amount of their wealth.

Richest Kenyan politicians

It’s my thinking that politicians make up majority of this blessed list. Many of them are in this list due to the fact that they looted and continue to loot the taxpayers money. In independence Kenya, right from the time of jomo Kenyatta, moi and the current coalition government headed by president kibaki and prime minister raila odinga public funds are continuosly misappropriated and the only beneficiaries are none other than the politicians.

We have witnessed a lot of grand corruption scandals like anglo-leasing, Goldenberg, triton petroleum saga, the maize saga, the grand regency (now laico regency) scandal among many others and it seems this issue of politicians looting public money and going scot free will go on unless our new look judiciary headed by chief justice willy mutunga does something.

Whichever way they have acquired their massive wealth let me list the top richest Kenyan politicians in no particular order.
